How-To: Winterize Your Kaddy-Lac Fleet

It’s that sad time of year where we have to clean up and get ready for the (dare I say it...snow). We hope you all had a wonderful golf season! Here are some tips & tricks to help keep your Kaddy-Lac Fleet safe during the winter months:

  1. Use a table with lots of space to work on your carts. The height will help you save time and your back!

  2. Inspect all the straps & buckles. Clean out any garbage or leaves out of the mesh baskets.

  3. Check all 1/2” lock nuts that tension wheels. Tension with a 3/4” open wrench to take up any slack (this will help the bearing life)

  4. Lubricate brake mechanism (oil nylon washer with light oil, 3 in-1, or WD-40)

  5. Clean tires with soapy cloth (dish detergent works perfectly)

  6. Go over all parts of the cart with 1/4” nuts (tighten if loose). Parts to check: drink holder, front plastic wheel-fork, brake pin)

  7. Store your carts. Inside is the best option - if not available, wrap with tarp.

Please do not clean cart with sprayer washer (especially the wheels). Doing so will potentially ruin the bearings. Getting water between bearing seals, corrodes ball bearings and cage that they are hosted in.

If your cart is under 2 years old, do not remove the wheels. Every Kaddy-Lac cart wheel is prepacked with lithium grease to prevent corrosion of the wheel axle.
